All employers in California, including those with only one employee, are required to have a written injury and illness prevention program.

In the case Fair v. Bakhtiari, Thomas Fair sued his ex wife (Maryann Fair), Karl Bakhtiari (a previous business partner) and other various business entities. Fair believed that they had all left him out of real estate ventures that Fair should have rightfully been involved in and also alleged there was other wrongful conduct, all of which caused him monetary damages.

SACRAMENTO – The Contractors State License Board’s (CSLB) Renewals Unit has been contacted by several licensees who attempted to renew their license through an outside business, rather than directly with CSLB. In some cases, doing so caused delays, which resulted in their licenses expiring. As a result, they must now pay late fees.

Governor Jerry Brown unveiled his budget plan this week which proposes large cuts to nearly all state programs while hopeful Californians will agree to extend previous temporary tax hikes for an additional five years that are set to expire mid-2011.

VOTERS SENT a clear message on Nov. 2 -- the time for excuses is over; it’s time to get the job done.
At least a few people in Washington must have gotten the message with the barrage of bills passed those last few weeks during this lame-duck Congress’ last few weeks. Lets hope local and state leaders figure it out just as quickly.
Even if the economy turns around, the next few years are still going to be rocky, especially for local governments.
