Harassment Training Requirement Starts Soon

California has adopted stricter laws to prevent workplace Discrimination and Harassment for employers with 5 or more employees Employment practice cases of all categories have become more common and the employer is typically blindsided when the summons is delivered. All types of employment practice claims have three things in common.

1) The employer did not see it coming.

2) They are very expensive, usually over $150,000 per employee.

3) They are not covered by standard insurance policies, i.e. workers compensation or general liability.

EB Park District Report Highlights Measure WW Local Investments – $117 Million Invested So Far

In 2008, voters in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties approved Measure WW with 72% support to improve and enhance regional parks, shorelines, and trails, and to address local park and recreation needs. Of the $500 million provided by Measure WW, $125 million (25%) was set aside on a per-capita basis for projects in local cities, county service areas, special park and recreation districts, and the Oakland Zoo.
