The Builders Exchange and the construction industry lost one of its true benefactors recently, Paul Vitton, founder and owner for many years of Vitton Construction, who died January 4, 2015 in Roseville, CA.
In addition to serving many years on the Builders Exchange of Alameda County Board of Directors, in 2006 Paul was presented with the Builders Exchange’s W.E “Bill” Lyons Founders Award, the Builders Exchange’s highest honorary award, recognizing his contributions to the construction industry and to the association.
Paul’s support was instrumental in the Exchange’s success and growth as Paul served the Builders Exchange in so many capacities – Board of Directors – Committees – Events – Strategic Plans – that are to numerous to mention.
Paul was a very devoted and loving family man. He is survived by his beloved Aunt Lucille, sons Bob Vitton and David Vitton, daughters Diane Ricci and Paula Mallmann, his grandchildren Jeanette Ricci, Elizabeth Ricci, Victoria Vitton, Cody Mallmann, Justin Vitton and Sarah Vitton.
A graduate of Michigan Tech University in Civil Engineering, Paul married his college sweet heart, Betty Lungren, in 1955 and joined the Army. After completing his service, Paul had a successful career in the engineering and construction industry. Paul retired with Betty at the age of fifty five and enjoyed twenty six years of traveling the world, fishing, golfing, playing pool, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Paul and Betty were married for 54 years until Betty’s passing in 2007. Paul will be greatly missed by all his family and friends who were blessed with his humor and love.
