If you are a woman working in the construction industry, or the owner of a construction company with female employees, or if you know someone interested in the construction industry who might benefit from attending the 2ndAnnual Women in Construction Expo, please RSVP today to secure your seat, as well as seats for your colleagues at this groundbreaking event.  We encourage men to also attend to support women in this industry.

The 2nd Annual Women in Construction Expo is sponsored by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) and its Small Firm Advisory Committee and will take place on Friday, October 16, 2015, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Hotel Whitcomb located at 1231 Market Street, San Francisco 94102.

The goal of this year’s Expo is to empower women in the trades by providing tips on how to enter pre-apprenticeship programs, begin a career in the construction industry and gain skills-building in how to navigate through the contract bidding process.  Attendees will also receive current information about construction contracting opportunities with SFPUC.  A major highlight of the event is the roster of notable presenters, including City Administrator Naomi Kelly, and Linda Alvarado, President and CEO of Alvarado Construction, a large commercial and industrial general contracting/site management and design/build firm in Denver, CO.

Ms. Alvarado has received numerous awards and recognition, including being named by Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the  “100 Most Influential Hispanics in America.” Not only is Ms. Alvarado a trailblazer and powerhouse in the construction industry, she is a trailblazer in sports.  Ms. Alvarado is co-owner of the Colorado Rockies, which makes her the first woman and the first Hispanic owner in the history of major league baseball.  She was also a JV partner with Turner on the Bronco’s stadium in Denver.  This is a not to miss event to hear Ms. Alvarado speak.

They anticipate a full house, so reserve you seat now by clicking on the invitation below, or via this link: https://womeninconstructionexpo.eventbrite.com
