Education

60 topics and more than 125 sessions! The Expo once again focuses on compliance, certification, hands-on skills, management and financial workshops, The Expo will be offering topics on the Top 10 OSHA Violations.

The 2011 Safety Expo sessions will help your company cut costs while preventing injuries on the shop floor, as well as the job site through synergistic training involving aspects of both general and construction industry segments. This event is recognized for its commitment to safety, and the importance placed on developing people through training. Progressing employees at all levels that are competent in safety, i.e., those that possess the knowledge, skills, and experience to perform safety, consistently is critical to any operation. The Expo provides this invaluable training at $50 for members of the Builders Exchange and $65 to nonmembers for all THREE days, not per day! This is a huge cost savings compared to similar sessions being offered at much higher fees. Classes such as the Federal OSHA 10 and the Cal/OSHA 10 are usually priced from $250 to $350. Accident Investigation is normally priced from $300 to $400. Scaffold certification can be as much as $500 or more, and high voltage electrical safety often go for $700 each or $1,400 for certification.

Back for 2011 is the partnership between the Public Equipment Managers association (PEMA)* and the Expo.

*PEMA is an information and networking organization whose member base consists of fleet managers, supervisors, mechanics, and parts technicians from public fleets in Northern California along with other professionals in the vehicle and equipment field.

"Partnership Marketplace" Trade Show

For 2011, the Expo features a modified trade show and schedule - this year, the trade show will be two days, Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20 so that exhibitors will have the maximum amount of time to display their products and services. Exhibiting companies can reach a wider audience by displaying and demonstrating products, services, innovations, and technology related to their businesses. The Safety Expo trade show enhancesthe informational and educational value for attendees, as well as provide the opportunity for the exchange of ideas and solutions together with valuable input from the Expo supplier community.

Employers are faced with many challenges, and an unhealthy economy has fostered a greater sense of uncertainty relative to organizational sustainability. Many employers have no choice but to tighten their belts and make significant sacrifices; "doing more with less" has become synonymous for many.

Training and education is a fundamental cornerstone to any successful organization. During periods of economic decline, there are many challenges for employers to maintain their existing training levels while coping with shrinking budgets. Even if you only have $65* in your budgets for safety training, this is the only program where you can find 70 quality topics and 130 sessions condensed in only three days at that price.
