State Fund places a high priority on workplace safety and training programs. Our many industry-leading safety resources can help prevent injuries, and protect California employers and workers.

Last year, State Fund launched a YouTube channel, making State Fund-produced safety videos available for streaming online. Now, we have increased the size of our library by posting additional titles, both safety and business-related.

Felony, Fines and Jail - The Story of Workers Comp Fraud

Fraud is a costly crime. This compelling video makes the case for everyone—including both employers and employees—to be vigilant in preventing fraud, and shows the negative results for those who try to cheat the system. Interview clips with convicted fraud defendants show the devastating impact a felony conviction can have on an individual and his or her family. The program also describes what workers' compensation was originally designed to do, and how benefits are provided in today’s workplace.

Safety on the Bottling Line - A Training Tool for the Wine Industry (also available in Spanish)

Bottling wine is an important component in one of California's most prized industries. But it can also be dangerous. Workers face risks from repetitive motion, noise exposures, lifting, slips, trips and falls, pinch points from moving machinery and more. This video shows how to reduce the risk of injury while working on the bottling line.

Team Lifting: Reducing Back Injuries in the Medical Workplace

Research has uncovered epidemic levels in the number of nursing personnel sustaining back injuries in all sectors—acute care, long-term care, and home health. To prevent these injuries, health care industry experts have developed the idea and methodology of “team lifting”. This video emphasizes the benefits of implementing a successful team lifting program in a health care workplace.

Video streaming enables State Fund to provide 24/7 access to our safety and business-related videos, making them available to all California employers and workers.

The videos cover a variety of agricultural, construction, and other worksite topics. State Fund also maintains a video lending library for policyholders.

Our electronic Safety Materials and Safety Videos can be found on the Safety Resource Center pages at the links. Digital conversion and posting of State Fund’s safety videos will continue throughout 2013.
