Join the Builders Exchange as we meet with attorney John McGill for an informal gathering and discuss topics of construction law and how to safeguard your business.

Hosted by BABX member firm Division 8 Resource Inc., we are meeting Thursday, Feb 13th, from 4 PM to 6:30 PM at the offices of Division 8   Resource Inc., at 14299 Wicks Blvd., San Leandro, CA 94577.

John McGill is the author of “Desktop General Counsel”, a book written for all contractors on what you need to know about California construction law.

John P. McGill is a journeyman carpenter, licensed general contractor, and a construction law attorney.  He received his JD with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and is a member of the school’s Traynor Honor Society.

He has been involved in the construction industry for more than 40 years; building, representing contractors, teaching, writing and speaking on various aspects of the industry. His law practice is, and has been, almost exclusively representing and advising contractors and suppliers in business, administrative, and litigation matters involving both public works projects and private works projects.

This evening is sponsored by the Bay Area Builders Exchange and Division 8 Resource Inc and is free to attend for active members.

Attendees will receive a copy of John’s book, “Desktop General Counsel” (one per company).

Space is limited! MUST RSVP to Scott Leary at spleary@bayareabx.com, or call 510-483-8880

Contract review, lien law, preserving your rights, new rules, etc., whether you are new to the industry or experienced and sophisticated builders.  The law is the law, and the more you know about it, the better prepared you will be to avoid the ramifications of doing something that you would have been better off not doing.
